It does not differentiate between stem, peel, leaves or fibre so you really never lose out on anything. In fact, thanks to its smooth blending function, it releases phytonutrients present in peels and pulps helping maintain the immune system better. Operating on a 2 peak HP motor that runs cooler than most other blenders, it can churn through the thickest of mixtures with ease. Making frozen entrees, peanut butter, humus is so much simpler with the Vitamix Turboblend 4500. The container is oversized at 64 ounce made from a material known as Triton Eastman copolyster, which is chemical and heat resistant, unbreakable and BPA free. The lid is easy to handle and comes with an easy pouring spout. Vitamix has been pelting out blender designs for the past 50 years or more with each model receiving a good reception in the American market. This all American brand is a trustworthy name that has yet again managed to impress us with its Turboblend 4500. We were expecting a simple and moderately capable blender when we ordered the Vitamix Turboblend 4500 but having used it for a few weeks, we feel that its more than just capable – it is actually quite powerful and versatile too.

For starters, the base is heavy with a black overture to the front simplistic control panel that features just two toggle switches, one operates the on/off state of the blender and the other controls the speed. Unlike other Vitamix models, you only get two speed options of pulse and normal but this limiting factor does not make it a less capable blender. In fact, we have made smoothies, energy drinks, milkshakes, peanut butter, humus and even managed to dice together wheatgrass, kale, spinach to recreate the perfect early morning booster drink. Construction wise its rigid and quite capable of handling the toughest assignments. Yes, when you do make something like peanut butter, the top layer seems to stagnate but that is why it comes with a tamper of its own. Just push down on the tamper occasionally to get the entire ensemble churning over the blades. The 2 HP motor of the Vitamix Turboblend 4500 is more than capable of taking the daily wear and tear of blending or food processing and we have yet to find the motor get too hot or shut down because of overheating.

The 64 ounce container is a basic Vitamix BPA free Eastman Triton jar that you can replace with a 32 ounce dry jar if you so wish to. It is sturdy, easy to clean and quite capable of withstanding heat, pressure and unbearable stress. We don’t think that it will ever need replacement just like its unique blade and ball bearing encasement. Overall, the Vitamix Turboblend 4500 feels sturdy and rugged in construction and usage.

Be it occasional blending, daily food processing or crushing ice to a fine snow, the Vitamix Turboblend 4500 manages to do an outstanding job without costing a lot. It may not be a commercial grade blender, used by professionals and chefs but what it brings to any household is the ability to mince, dice, chop, grind, crush and puree anything and everything. This is truly a versatile and durable blender. We feel that the Vitamix Turboblend 4500 lives up to the reputation of Vitamix blenders of the past and so give it 5/5.
